Introduction

Global Peace Let's Talk

Dedicated to fostering peace and understanding, GPLT champions dialogue and education as transformative tools for conflict resolution. Through a diverse array of programs  including online courses, interactive workshops, and community-driven initiatives, GPLT equips individuals with the skills of nonviolent communication, servant leadership, and mediation. Through nurturing empathetic and effective communicators, GPLT aspires to cultivate a world where inclusion, harmony, and constructive dialogue thrive.

At Global Peace Letโ€™s Talk (GPLT), we believe that peace is more than the absence of conflictโ€”it is the presence of justice, opportunity, and understanding. Our mission is to build a world where violence is replaced by dialogue, fear by hope, and division by unity. Through our diverse programs, we empower individuals and communities to become architects of peace and champions of change.

Our Journey & Vision

Founded in October 2020, GPLT was born from the vision of uniting people from all walks of lifeโ€”individuals who contribute their gifts, talents, and abilities to serve humanity and fulfill their purpose. Inspired by the principles of Martin Luther King Jr.โ€™s โ€œI Have a Dreamโ€ speech, Mahatma Gandhiโ€™s philosophy of nonviolence, and Nelson Mandelaโ€™s legacy of reconciliation, GPLT is dedicated to fostering sustainable peace through education, advocacy, and action.

On February 22nd, 2021, GPLT was officially registered in London, United Kingdom, as a nonprofit organization (Company Number 13215240, NPO Limited by Guarantee). Our mission is driven by the belief that dialogue and education are the most powerful tools for conflict resolution, social justice, and inclusive leadership.

What We Do

Our work is implemented through impactful activities, including storytelling, art and culture, community development, human rights, social justice, nonviolent communication, mediation, conflict transformation, gender advocacy and empowerment, rural development, data collection, policy advocacy, peace education, and information sharing. These initiatives serve as powerful tools to amplify silenced voices and create sustainable pathways to peace.

Empowering Change through Education & Dialogue

At GPLT, we believe that true peace begins with knowledge and understanding. Through a variety of programs and initiatives, we provide individuals with the skills and tools needed to become empathetic leaders and effective communicators. Our offerings include:

  • Online courses in conflict resolution, servant leadership, and nonviolent communication.
  • Workshops and training programs that equip individuals with practical strategies for building peaceful communities.
  • Community events and forums that promote intercultural dialogue, collaboration, and social cohesion.
  • Mentorship and advocacy programs that empower individualsโ€”especially marginalized groupsโ€”to become ambassadors of peace and inclusion.

Our Commitment to Lasting Impact

Violence remains one of the leading causes of death for individuals aged 15โ€“44 worldwide, accounting for 14% of deaths among males and 7% among females. For every life lost, many more suffer from physical, sexual, reproductive, and mental health issues. GPLT is dedicated to reversing this cycle by fostering a culture of peace and social responsibility.

To accomplish this, GPLT prioritizes key strategies, including:

  1. Strengthening data systems and research to accurately document and analyze trends in violence, discrimination, and social injustice.
  2. Advocating for policy reforms, including the banning of corporal punishment and stricter enforcement of laws protecting vulnerable populations.
  3. Promoting positive parenting and family resilience programs that nurture safe and supportive environments for children and youth.
  4. Championing legal reforms and justice accessibility, including the revision of outdated rape laws and the protection of survivors of gender-based violence (GBV).
  5. Expanding trauma healing initiatives, offering psychological support, rehabilitation programs, and community-based healing circles.
  6. Combating all forms of sexual and gender-based violence through prevention, intervention, and survivor-centered support systems.
  7. Fostering economic empowerment and education as tools for conflict prevention and peace sustainability, particularly for marginalized groups.
  8. Strengthening mediation and conflict transformation efforts, empowering communities to resolve disputes peacefully and inclusively.
  9. Developing sustainable peace-building frameworks that integrate mental health support, economic stability, and inclusive governance.
  10. Amplifying voices through policy advocacy and digital activism, ensuring grassroots communities have a seat at decision-making tables.

Focusing on the Future โ€“ Inclusion & Giving a Voice to the Voiceless

At GPLT, we are committed to inclusion, amplifying unheard voices, and fostering sustainable peace through inclusive societies. Our work encompasses gender equality, disability inclusion, marginalized communities, refugee empowerment, and youth engagement, ensuring that no one is left behind in the fight for peace.

Within three years, we project that at least 50% of our program participants will become self-reliant peace advocates, fostering environments that uphold diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Our Peace Building programs pair survivors of violence with trained mentors/guardians for 12 months. Through structured support systems, participants engage in weekly planned activities that foster meaningful relationships, build resilience, and restore confidence. Mentors receive continuous training and participate in monthly progress meetings to ensure sustained impact and growth.

The Role of the Communications Team

At the heart of Global Peace Letโ€™s Talk is our Communications Team, the dynamic force that bridges our mission with the world. We are the voice of GPLTโ€”storytellers, strategists, and catalysts for changeโ€”dedicated to ensuring that every struggle, every triumph, and every call for peace is heard far and wide.

Through strategic communication, media outreach, and digital engagement, we amplify the impact of GPLTโ€™s work. Our team is responsible for producing and managing the GPLT Symphony Newsletter, which showcases inspiring stories, program updates, and key insights on global peace-building efforts.

Additionally, we oversee event planning and coordination, ensuring the smooth execution of GPLTโ€™s global and local peace-building initiatives. We meticulously monitor GPLT events, led by the Public Relations arm of GPLT, to assess impact, strengthen community engagement, and enhance outreach efforts.

We understand the transformative power of storytelling in shifting mindsets and igniting change. Our role extends beyond information-sharingโ€”we spearhead movements of hope, mobilizing communities to advocate for peace and justice. Through media campaigns, advocacy initiatives, and grassroots storytelling, we illuminate untold stories, initiate dialogues, and create platforms for meaningful conversations that lead to action.

A Future of Peace & Possibilities

Over time, Global Peace Letโ€™s Talk will establish a dynamic learning environment, serving as an invaluable resource for marginalized groups, aspiring mentors, and the wider community. Our ultimate vision is to build a world where peace is not just an aspiration but a reality.

We invite funders, partners, and changemakers to join us in this transformative mission. With your support, we can expand our reach, enhance our programs, and accelerate global peace initiatives. Together, letโ€™s invest in a future where dialogue replaces division and peace becomes a lived reality for all.

Together, letโ€™s talk peace. Letโ€™s build it. Letโ€™s live it.
