Soap Making for Resilience

Project: Training 100 Displaced Sudanese Women and Girls in 4 Local Communities in 2023

Description: Sudan witnessing very destructive War that has outbroken i n 15th of April 2023 and still going on.

As a result of War huge numbers of people dying, thousands are injured, hundreds are missing and millions have become Refugees and Displaced.

Review: At the end of August 2023, IOM estimates that Sudan hosts a total of 7.071.675 Internally Displaced Individuals (3.8 newly Displaced by the recent conflict and 3.2 million IDPs in protracted Displacement pre April 2023), in addition to 1.1 million refugees who had been living in Sudan prior to the April conflict.

Nearly all the Sudanse people who have been forced to leave their homes, they are suffering from losing their houses, their Assets and Income activities (Livelihoods) to survive within the Minimum Standards of Humanitarian Measures.

This Concept Note is written by TEFAS Hub for The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for empowering Displaced Sudanese Women and Girls by building their capacities and technical skills in Soap Making for Resilience.
The Training will be conducted in Gezira State targeting 100 Displaced Sudanese Women and Girls.
There will be 4 Training Workshops in 4 areas each Workshop consists of 25 Participants.
Displaced Women and Girls will be provided by Soap Materials after Training Workshops to start their own Business.

Training Aim :
By the end of these Training Workshops the Displaced Women and Girls will be able to strengthen their economic power to earn steady incomes.

Training Objectives :
The main Objectives of the Training are:

  • Help Displaced Women and Girls build resiliency and support their affected families.
  • Displaced Women and Girls will become empowered with practical knowledge and entrepreneurial skills.
  • Displaced Women and Girls will be Independent and gain resources to secure sustainability.

Expected Outcomes :

  • The Training Partcipants are able to depend upon themselves to run their own Business.
  • The Training Partcipants are able to feed their affected families with dignity.
  • The Training Partcipants are able to have positive impact and interactions with the Host Communities.
  • The Training Partcipants are able to contribute in providing  Self-Sufficiency of Soap Product in the Local Markets.
  • The Training Partcipants are able to re-build, enhance Social Cohesion and Peaceful Coexistence with the new communities.
